During winter it is common for the city to be engulfed in fog. On days like this is gets extremely cold; the damp penetrates your bones and it is highly likely that your kids will complain! If you are coming in winter bring warm clothes for your children, including hats, scarves, gloves. Be careful when walking around because the streets become very slippery. Even worse, the damp pavements get smeared with soggy dogs’ mess (yes, it’s pretty gross to mention it but that’s what happens). 

The worst consequence of fog is that many of the water bus lines are cancelled. Most of the lines with smaller boats will be cancelled until the fog lifts but the essential lines (lines 1 and 14) continue running. The Alilaguna (airport transfer) usually continues as normal.
