PARKS & PLAYGROUNDS

When we travel we find that our kids get irritable if we do too many tourist attractions and museums. So when we’re on holiday the first thing we do is look for the nearest playground. Once they’ve had a run around and a proper play they always relax and sleep much better.

Venetian children either play in the nearest “campo” (square) or head to a playground. There are lots of parks in central Venice and many on Lido island. In the summer on Lido all the beach clubs have play areas too. Our favourite park in Venice is Sant’Elena. We’ve provided a guide to all the parks so you can find one near to you.

Many people are surprised to discover that there are beaches in Venice. Head to Lido to cool off in the sea!

The best park and playground in Venice! Shady trees, lots of play equipment, a zip wire &  climbing wall.

A fantastic, inclusive playground where all children can play together. Halfway down Lido island.

A large, park with several play areas for children. Right near the train station, Strada Nova, and the Ghetto.

A park with play equipment near to Piazzale Roma and the train Station. Quite basic but fine for a runaround.

Behind the Ca’ Rezzonico museam you can find this gorgeous garden (free entry) with children’s play area.

Let your kids join the local children for a run around the “campo” (local square). Everyone is welcome!
