Rosso Pomodoro
(San Marco)

This is a huge pizzeria just off of Saint Mark’s square and is a great place for kids. It’s part of a chain of restaurants where they make pizzas with “DOP” products (protected foods that come directly from the origin, like buffala mozzarella from Campania and basil from Liguria) so the pizzas are made with high quality ingredients. The place is packed with tourists (which occasionally changes the atmosphere) but the pizza is extremely good and it’s massive so it is easy to get a table. In addition to the main menu there is always a seasonal option that changes regularly and is usually pretty good. There is also a RossoPomodoro in the railway station Santa Lucia.

INSIDER TIP

If you can’t decide what to have order the “Frù Frù” which is a pizza with different toppings on three sections.

FAMILY FRIENDLINESS

They have huge wooden tables in the room at the back that can seat large parties if you are more than one family. The menu offers salads and pasta as well as pizza, so there is something for everyone. It’s open all day including early evening if you have kids that need an early dinner. The toilets are usually a bit messy to be honest. However, this is a good place that is always popular with our guests.
