NAVAL HISTORICAL MUSEUM
(castello)

This is a great little museum, which is rarely crowded. It’s quite economical too.

INSIDER TIP

Our favourite part is the Ships Pavillion, which is round the back (you have to exit the museum and enter again through an entrance next to the Arsenale bridge). It’s very spacious so the kids can move round easily and it’s full of boats, and warships, with lots of wooden historical Venetian boats, diving suits, and much more. Our kids love this section and will spend ages strolling ground captivated by the beautiful boats.

FAMILY FRIENDLINESS

In the main museum there is an elevator for prams. There are some parts that our kids find slightly boring so you might like to consider targeting your visit to certain areas, in particular the Ships Pavillion. Children under 6 go free.
