FRITTELLE & GALANI

Delicious pastries served in February in Carnival season. Frittelle, are a sort of deep fried dough with raisins and pine nuts that are either served sprinkled with sugar “Veneziane”, filled with cream “alla crema” or filled with a sort of boozy custard “zabaione”. We love the ones served at Pasticceria da Bonifacio.

GALANI

“Galani” are rectangles of deep fried crispy sweet batter, sprinkled with icing sugar. In other parts of Italy they are called “frappe”.
