This is a small but super nice “cicchetteria” on Fondameneta della Miseriocordia in the Ghetto/Cannaregio area (very cute area to wander around). It only has a few tables on the canal and a couple of chairs inside, otherwise it’s standing only. There are three shelves of ciccheti (meat, fish, veg) to choose from, and all are out of this world. We like to stop here with our boat and run in to get a “cicchetti” and glass of wine, which we then enjoy on the boat while the kids have a picnic. The selection of wines is incredible.
INSIDER TIP
You can also take food away. They’ll pop them in plastic containers so you can take them home or out for a picnic. You can also buy bottles of wine to take out – and the selection is superb. If it’s busy here there are some other wonderful “cicchetteria” along this canal (but this is by FAR our favourite!)
FAMILY FRIENDLINESS
Great if you a travelling only with one baby because you can pop it in a sling and really enjoy the wines and “cicchetti”. Vino Vero is probably mainly suitable for grown-ups but our children really love the little bitesized snacks. They also enjoy sitting or standing outside and watching the boats pass on the canal.
