There are a few Majers around Venice (see locations below). This chain includes some stores that serve coffee, cakes, and bread, while some also serve more substantial food (Giudecca, Santa Croce). It’s a modern style of café food, rather than traditional Italian so it is nice to eat there if you want a change from heavier restaurant food. At the Giudecca branch they have lovely burgers, salads, and cous cous, and the cakes are stunning! 

Our favourite is the Majer on Giudecca because it is right on the water, with huge windows, so you can watch all the locals on their boats going past as well as the ferry and sometimes massive cruise ships.
